Go Your Own Route.

Go Your Own Route.

Story Time.

Circa 2011

In this photo I was all of 19 years old. Telling my sweetie (now wife)my last goodbyes as I was moving to Nevada with my new found investment. A Trio of Ostrich. I was abandoning my new business venture Foxcrete for greener pastures. The plan was to strike it rich like mineral rich land. The plan was in place and just awaited my execution.

.

I was anxious, excited, nervous, and proud. My new life was set to begin. While failure was not a concern of mine. I knew there was an inherent risk, but I also understood I had to make moves to start swimming.

.

I spent a couple months farming these ostrich. Our farm was almost in barren land. There wasn’t signs of life within 30 minutes. The path to our compound was navigated through faint trails in the desert. This is the place where you could get lost and not be found.

.

After roughing it for several months alone without family and friends, I decided this investment was going to take more time and money than I intended.

.

I have worn many hats in my young life. Mostly due to fulfilling the curiosity within me to find my purpose. I regret none of them.

.

I say that to follow it up with this.

Do not be afraid to go your own route. Have a crazy plan, do it. Life is short, make moves, fail, win, and live your best version of yourself. Be calculated, and decisive. Happiness isn’t found cohesively in currency. While the two compliment each well, large assets are not a prerequisite to success.

.

I am by no means financially successful, but I am at a point in my career, that I can enjoy the big picture of life. I put so many goals and expectations on myself and held on to impossible standards to the point I was not enjoying life.

.

Work hard, prioritize your happiness, and go your own route.
